Since releasing their debut album, First Avenue, Holy Moly & The Crackers have been touring music venues and festivals around the UK and France to wide acclaim. During that time their sound has strengthened, deepened, and become a little darker.
Their latest release serves up a trilogy of songs that display that evolving character, bridging the gap between their 1st and upcoming 2nd album perfectly. It’s a classic tale of the cuckold and the harlot, Cocaine Lil, who parties her way to the grave.

World War One (WW1) broke out in 1914, and between 2014 and 2018, people across the globe will come together to commemorate the sacrifices that soldiers and their families made in defence of their countries. Such was the scale of casualties during WW1 that a century on it would be difficult to find a family untouched by the war. We owe so much to the millions who made the ultimate sacrifice in the most horrific of conditions. We now call them Veterans, but by the end of the war the majority were under 21.
From its inception in 1944, the Army Benevolent Fund (now ABF The Soldiers’ Charity) was proud to support WW1 veterans and their families. Many of them became loyal supporters and some served on ABF committees. ‘Only Remembered’ is The Soldiers’ Charity (North East) tribute to all who served during WW1. Its songs and poems depict the war on a very personal level – through the eyes of generals, soldiers, and the families they left behind. It’s brutally honest and gut-wrenchingly emotional. If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be a true reflection of the war!
Most of the songs on the album are performed by Vicki Guillory, a long-standing supporter of the Soldiers Charity. The poems are read by Alasdair Hutton (the voice of Edinburgh Tattoo), and ITV This Morning agony aunt Denise Robertson.
Northern Lights Music has recorded and produced Only Remembered, and will be releasing the album on 3rd March 2014. Both the CD and digital download will be available in our Music Store, as well as through many other online stores.
The album launch will take place on Saturday 1st March 2014 at the Sage Gateshead, where the entire collection of songs and poems will be performed live, and the CD will be on sale.
